The Wiz wows its audiences
Though an annual practice, the School Production never gets old and this year is no exception. The Wiz, a Motown reincarnation of The Wizard of Oz, was surreal, funky and hilarious, whether you were watching it or onstage. Students from across the college and from every year group proved their talent and dedication in producing this superb show.
For me – a veteran School Production member - it has become a way of making friends, exhibiting the more dramatic sides of your personality, and practising a passion in a supportive environment, where no one cares for differences, only a love of theatre and musical culture.
Being in The Wiz has produced months of glitter, dancing, laughter and impromptu musical numbers and, though stage fright and nerves sometimes shadow the performance, it’s something that we as students are endlessly lucky to have, and we only have our fantastic teachers and technicians to thank for that.
