Bertha the Hamster

The warm bedding surrounded me as I shuffled instantaneously out of my cosy burrow. My coruscating black beatle eyes blinked as the sun’s aureate, warm fingertips touched my fluffy fur. On the inside I was inexplicably jubilant, in the way of a hamster who has never had bitten its owner. When you’re a hamster, that’s how someone decides if you’re a sanguine hamster without perturbations: whether or not you bite your owner. The sawdust cackled maliciously underneath my peachy paws, and I decided to attempt to present myself ostentatiously, so I fiddled with the painted bars of my cage, and then hastened through the plastic tunnels. Incidentally, the tunnels aren’t even fun to go in and out of. What’s the point? If a hamster like me wants to hide, do you freaking expect me to hide in something you can see me in? That’s ridiculous! That’s like playing hide and seek without any places to hide!
My name’s Bertha by the way, and my owner is surprisingly languorous today.
The scintillating sunlight touches my cage, and I expeditiously hasten to my polka dot food bowl. I know hamsters aren’t exactly cadaverous creatures, but my appetite has been growing lately; I'd even discovered my owners saying: ‘That Bertha is so stout, you mustn’t over feed her!’
Over feed her, I ponder in my tiny hamster brain. What a pleasant phrase to hear...
