The trimmings on the tree: the top seven decorations

The winter season brings with it cold weather and darker days - but it can be brightened up with some festive decorations! Is your tree looking dull? Do you glance enviously at your neighbours’, which undoubtedly puts yours to shame? Well, this year that won’t be happening. So, let’s get started on the top seven things to put on your Christmas tree!
Lights
If you want to add some light to your tree, these are the number one thing to have. Available to you is a variety of either plain, flashing or colourful lights.
Plastic icicles
These dainty icicles are extremely seasonally appropriate and look great dangling from the bottom of a tree. Even better, they appear realistic, and ultimately look amazing.
Baubles
Baubles are undeniably traditional for Christmas trees. Not only would a tree look dull without them, but it would be missing out on a key festive decoration.
Star or angel
Whatever you put on the top of your tree, make sure you like it; there is nothing worse than having something out of your taste sitting upon the forefront of your Christmas decor.
Little chocolate treats
These are optional, but kids will love unquestionably love and appreciate them. Fortunately, they don’t have to be expensive and are an affordable form of festive adornment. For another chocolate treat idea, you could have a cheeky elf guarding some chocolate coins. Use your imagination!
White glittery ribbons
This will add streaks of sparkle and shine to your tree. It doesn’t have to be ribbons - maybe tinsel instead - and there are a range of colours available.
Which tree?
For some, artificial trees are the best; you don’t have all the spikes falling off the branches. However, if you do have an artificial tree, branches are likely to snap off, so be sure to check it each year.
Merry Christmas!
