BBC School Report Day: editing the way to success

Heathfield Community College has just enjoyed the fantastic opportunity of being involved in the BBC School Report Day. Many schools nationwide participated. As part of this day, a group of journalists alongside a group of media students (in collaboration with Heathfield TV and Radio Heathfield students) from Year 7 through to 6th Form worked together to produce a mixture of articles, radio edits and filmed edits.
Along with other schools, these included reports about subjects such as fake news, and what can be trusted as legitimate, as well as a report behind the scenes of BBC School Report.
In our own school a great variation of reports could be found - such as a video about the Winter Olympics, articles about tuition fees, a day in the life of a racing commentator and even more. All of these brilliant pieces are available on the links found below. Perhaps most importantly, a video was created out of respect for Stephen Hawking with a tribute to his amazing accomplishments throughout his life.
This was was a very interesting day, with lots of intriguing experiences that I for one know I have learned from.
