Littering at HCC, how can we stop it?
Francesca Dacey reminds us all that bins are there for a reason!
All too often at the end of break there is rubbish left on the ground. The school deserves to be cared for in the same way that the school cares for us. We need to look after and take care of the school by keeping it clean and tidy. That includes the playgrounds and activity areas of the sports field.
Some people don't clean up after themselves at the end of lunch and break, which results in takeaway pots and other packaging being left behind in communal areas for other people to clear up. Not only does litter not look good when it is left around the school, but it is also a hazard to animals around the outside of the school building who may get stuck in containers trying to retrieve left-over food, over even those whom attempt to eat the packaging mistaking it for food. The crazy thing is that school is full of bins - you just need to make sure you're using them.
So that you know where to locate the rubbish bins, they are as follows:
So, with so many bins at your disposal, why wouldn't you dispose of your rubbish and keep the school clean and tidy?

So that you know where to locate the rubbish bins, they are as follows:
- Underneath the Canopy
- Outside the Library
- Outside the Gym
- Outside the Computing Block
- Along the walkways on the Playing Field
- At the bottom of the Playing Field
- In the Cafeteria and Sixth Form Common Room
- On the Leisure Centre Field
