Settling in to secondary school
After two terms at Heathfield Community College, James Clark reflects upon his experience and the differences between primary and secondary school.
I am a new year 7 here at Heathfield Community college, and for the past two terms I have been getting used to the hustle and bustle of daily life. Secondary school is so much bigger than primary school, and it takes a lot of getting used to.
One of the biggest changes I have experienced is how much bigger the school building is and how many more students there are. There are so many more opportunities in this school than there were in our primary schools, and so many more things you can do.
There are also so many more members of staff here, and they are all willing to help you progress and enjoy your time here.
One of my favourite things about this school is the quality of the food. There is a lot more diversity with the food here in HCC, and it’s never the same thing every day. I may only be a year 7, but I feel like I’ve been here forever.
